About coffee in Wiggensbach
In 1888 a cow in a pasture outside Wiggensbach scraped up Roman coins and jewelry with its hooves. The hoard had gone into the ground around the year 233, during an Alemannic raid, and nobody ever came back for it. Eight kilometers away lay Cambodunum - one of the most important Roman towns in Raetia and probably its first capital, which is to say present-day Kempten. The Wiggensbach hoard is today the main exhibit in the museum there: the village dug up the best thing it had and handed it to its neighbor.
