Website terms of use

Specialty Atlas Website Terms of Use

Last updated: 25 August 2026

1. General provisions

These Terms govern the use of the website operated as part of the Specialty Atlas service (the Site), including marketing pages, the blog, authentication and password recovery helper pages, publicly available café, roastery, event, city and user profiles, and the B2B portal (partner panels for cafés and roasteries) after signing in.

Provider — the legal entity operating Specialty Atlas; identification and contact details are in the Site footer, the Help channel and the Privacy Policy.

2.1. By using the Site you confirm that you have read these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the cookie notice (including the option to refuse analytics).

2.2. Use of the mobile app is governed by the Mobile App Terms of Service. Creating a partner account, paid plans, billing and portal limits are governed by the B2B Terms of Service, which prevail over this document in that scope.

3. Accounts

3.1. Consumer accounts are as a rule created in the mobile app; the Site provides selected flows (password reset, magic link, email confirmation) and public profiles of users who enabled that visibility.

3.2. B2B accounts require accurate entity data, authorised persons and secure credentials. The partner is responsible for activity under the organisation’s account.

4. Acceptable use

Prohibited conduct includes unauthorised access, security testing without consent, generating excessive load, scraping areas not designated as public without consent, automated harvesting of content to build a competing database, uploading malware or unlawful content, and abusing forms.

5. Intellectual property

Trade marks, the Site layout, blog texts authored by the Provider and the software are protected. You receive a limited, revocable licence to use the Site for personal purposes or — for B2B — purposes related to your agreement with the Provider.

Database. The catalogue of venues, roasteries, beans and events presented on the Site is a database protected by sui generis database rights (Directive 96/9/EC and the national laws implementing it), held by the Provider. Extracting or re‑utilising a substantial part of that database, and repeatedly and systematically extracting or re‑utilising insubstantial parts of it, is prohibited — whether done through a browser, programmatic interfaces or automated tools.

Text and data mining (TDM). The Provider reserves the right of text and data mining within the meaning of Article 4 of Directive (EU) 2019/790, including for training and developing artificial‑intelligence models. The full reservation is set out in clause 9.11 of the mobile app Terms of Service; it is also expressed in machine‑readable form at https://specialtyatlas.com/.well-known/tdmrep.json. Search‑engine indexing of the Site and quoting it with attribution remain permitted.

6. Partner and User content

6.1. Ownership. Texts, photos and other material that you or your organisation post through the Site or the portal (café descriptions, photos, events, beans, official recipes, and reviews or other user content where made available) as a rule remain yours to the extent of the economic rights vested in you. Specialty Atlas does not become their owner merely by hosting them on the Site; we obtain the licences necessary to operate the service (and the promotional licence below), not a transfer of ownership.

6.2. Partners and authorised users represent that they hold the rights to the listing material they submit and that it does not infringe third‑party rights.

6.3. Promotional licence. Content published publicly on the Site (profile excerpts visible without signing in, partner galleries) is subject, by analogy, to the promotional licence described in the Mobile App Terms: we may show selected excerpts in social media or ads, crediting the source where possible, unless a specific agreement provides otherwise.

6.4. Public presentation and SEO. Public café, roastery, event, city and user profiles may be statically generated, indexed by search engines and shown in social media previews. The visibility of a user profile depends on that user’s settings in the app.

6.5. Responsibility and hosting. You are responsible for the legality and accuracy of material you add to the Site. Content from users or partners is not an endorsement by Specialty Atlas unless we explicitly mark it as ours. To the extent permitted by law the Provider is not liable for content supplied by users or partners (including misleading or unlawful content), subject to mandatory obligations — including obligations under the Digital Services Act once we obtain knowledge of illegal content. The existence of reporting or moderation does not mean all content is reviewed in advance.

7. Reporting content and moderation

7.1. You can report content available on the Site that you consider illegal or contrary to these Terms through the Contact / Help form, indicating the page address and a short justification.

7.2. Reports are handled under the rules described in the Mobile App Terms of Service (moderation, statement of reasons, appeal). The same rules apply to content presented on the Site.

8. Reviews, ratings and ranking

8.1. Ratings shown next to cafés come from the mobile app and are tied to visits confirmed by check‑in; how they are verified and how the score is calculated is described in the Mobile App Terms of Service.

8.2. The order and selection of results in search and lists on the Site are determined automatically, using the criteria described in the Mobile App Terms of Service (section 8). A paid partner plan does not change the order of café and roastery search results, but it unlocks listing presentation features. It does affect bean recommendations in the Lab: the Premium and Enterprise plans include a monthly allowance of bean promotions (Lab Boost), which temporarily raise a bean’s match score. Advertising and sponsored material is labelled.

9. Third‑party services

The Site uses, among others, Supabase (data hosting, authentication, database, storage), Stripe (B2B subscription billing), and after consent Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, as well as hosting and CDN infrastructure and a transactional email provider. Those providers’ terms also apply.

10. Informational disclaimer

Site content is informational; we make reasonable efforts to keep data about cafés, roasteries and events current, but do not guarantee completeness or accuracy. Decisions about visits are yours.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law the Provider is not liable for indirect damage or third‑party network outages. This does not exclude liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence or harm to life or health where exclusion is not permitted.

12. Privacy and cookies

Personal data processing is described in the Privacy Policy. Analytics tags load only after banner consent; consent can be withdrawn as described in the Cookie Policy.

13. Changes

We may change these Terms; the current date is shown above. Changes material to B2B partners are announced in advance under the B2B Terms of Service.

14. Governing law

Unless mandatory provisions provide otherwise, Polish law applies.

15. Contact

The contact channels listed on the Site or in the Privacy Policy.
