Audun Sørbotten roasted coffee at Solberg & Hansen in Oslo, and came to Bydgoszcz for a girl. He opened his own roastery here a year after the move, raised the money for the equipment through an online fundraiser, and in 2015 became world coffee roasting champion. He brought Nordic habits to the Brda: light roasting and kokekaffe, coffee boiled in a pot, in a country where what counted was mainly dark espresso. So the shortest road to Norwegian roasting runs not through Oslo but through Bydgoszcz.
