Die Kaffeeszene in Florence
Das berühmteste Café von Florenz begann als deutsche Bierhalle der Brüder Reininghaus, und seinen Namen bekam es von den Kellnern: Das Schild konnte niemand aussprechen, also ging man zu denen in den roten Jacken. Als Giubbe Rosse diente es später den Futuristen als Redaktion, und 1911 brach hier eine Schlägerei mit den Kollegen vom Fach aus Mailand aus, die erst am Bahnhof zu Ende gebracht wurde. Unter dem Faschismus mussten die Kellner die roten Jacketts ablegen und weiße anziehen, und zwischen den Tischen liefen Spitzel der OVRA umher und meldeten, wer was sagte. Das Rot kam erst nach dem Krieg zurück.
