About coffee in Rostock
In Rostock's Marienkirche there is a clock still running, probably the only one in the world still working on its own medieval movement - someone has to wind it by hand, every day. The calendar here is a two-meter disc on which the dates are simply written out in advance, year after year, so time can run out on it. On the previous disc it ran out on 31 December 2017 and a new one had to be painted - the fifth in the clock's history. This one lasts until 2150, and then someone in Rostock will again have to sit down and write out the future by hand.
