Specialty coffee in Treviglio

The boundary stone between Treviglio and neighboring Caravaggio is called the Gatta here, even though the relief shows a horse - gatèl in Bergamasque. The dispute over that border dragged on from the Middle Ages so fiercely that Bernardino of Siena himself came to reconcile the sides. In the fifties, boys from Caravaggio stole the stone and cemented it into place back home, so Treviglio answered with an air raid: three planes dropped candy, rolls of toilet paper, fountain pens and chickens on parachutes on the neighbors. The foreign press wrote at length about tensions in Lombardy, and the Gatta came home and stands in a museum today.
