Specialty coffee in Sant'Anastasia

The sanctuary in Sant'Anastasia keeps a pair of human feet in an iron cage. The local story has it they belonged to Aurelia Del Prete, who blasphemed here at the end of the sixteenth century after losing her piglet; a year later she died, and her feet fell off her body. The rest of the collection is calmer and far more interesting: four centuries of votive tablets on which people from under Vesuvius painted their own accidents, illnesses and poverty. It is the most exact record of everyday life this town has left behind.
