Popradská started in 1955 with two garages, six employees and two roasters, one taking 45 kilograms of green coffee and the other 90. Today the same company holds nearly a third of the Slovak coffee market, and its Extra Špeciál is considered the best-known coffee in the country. A Slovak coffee blog called it gray mediocrity kept afloat by nostalgia — the pack lists neither a country of origin nor a roast date.
