About coffee in Partizanske

The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was not conceived with Partizánske in mind: Vladimír Karfík, Baťa's chief architect, drew it for Baťov in Czechia and only later moved the design to the Slovak plain. When the building money ran out, construction resumed thanks to Sunday collections, gathered mostly among the factory's workers. The new communist regime thwarted the grand consecration in May 1949, so a month later the church was blessed only unofficially. It waited forty years for its official consecration, until 2 September 1989.
