Specialty coffee in Skalica

For nine days in November 1918, Skalica was the seat of government of a state that was only just coming into being. The Dočasná vláda pre Slovensko worked out of Pavol Blaha's private house on the main square — from there Vavro Šrobár announced the birth of Czechoslovakia to the thousands gathered, and there too came the decision that schools were to teach in Slovak. The government resigned as soon as a proper cabinet had been put together in Prague. Every ministry fit into a few rooms of a single house, and the house was designed by Dušan Jurkovič.
