Espresso machine
An espresso machine is a device that brews coffee by forcing hot water under high pressure through finely ground beans. It works much like a powerful, automated syringe, washing out the flavors from the coffee grounds in a matter of seconds. This creates a dense, highly concentrated drink called espresso, which is topped with a golden layer of foam known as crema (a combination of trapped carbon dioxide and coffee oils). Because these machines require incredible temperature stability to perform consistently, professional commercial models are built out of heavy metals and often weigh as much as an adult.
