About coffee in Stribro
Stříbro is Czech for "silver", but silver was scarce, and for centuries what they mined here was mostly lead and zinc. Down in the Prokop adit, the story goes that the town got its name from shiny lead ore that the first settlers mistook for silver. The last cart of ore came to the surface on the last day of October 1974, and the miners saw the shaft off with an inscription: "Poslední vůz", the last cart. The town museum, however, ends its story of the mines with the word "prozatím" — "for now".
