In 1925 the baker Franz Henke remodelled his café in Art Deco style and decorated it with motifs from ancient Egyptian art and a relief of two men and a woman carrying trays with a sugarloaf and snacks. Under socialism the place was run by the state catering enterprise under the name Krym, and nothing of the interior survived. The waiters on the facade proved more durable than the café they were inviting you into.
