About coffee in Pribram
Beneath Příbram runs a second town: 2,188 kilometres of galleries cut in search of uranium, with the deepest shaft, No. 16, going down 1,838 metres. The Vojna camp was built for German prisoners of war, then filled with political prisoners, and became the largest forced-labour camp at the Czechoslovak uranium mines. The prisoners mined the ore and, while they were at it, built new parts of the town they were working under. The last mine cart was ceremonially brought to the surface in September 1991, after 48,800 tonnes of uranium.
