About coffee in Prerov
Přerov is, above all, a junction: the first trains ran from here to Břeclav as early as 1841, and the tracks soon branched off towards Olomouc and Bohumín. Under the Protectorate some 250 trains a day passed through, more than through any other station in the Czech lands. This is where Siemens & Halske installed electric signalling and safety equipment for the first time at any station in the world. Alongside that novelty, the second platform has kept its late-19th-century boards, on which the name of the destination was raised by hand, with a pull cord.
