About coffee in Pelhrimov
Pelhřimov is the Czech capital of records, and that's not a brochure slogan but the finding of a survey: more than 71 percent of respondents associate the town with records. Behind it is a private agency, Dobrý den, which for over three decades has been verifying and registering Czech records of every kind from here, out in the Vysočina provinces. It set up a museum in the old Lower Gate, featuring a 640-litre kettle and a Mona Lisa made from around 45,000 grains of rice. In December 2025, however, the councillors cut off the money, and the town the whole country knows for records was left without its festival after 35 years.
