About coffee in Hluboka nad Vltavou
The castle the Schwarzenbergs remodelled after England's Windsor was taken from them by a law aimed at one man. The Lex Schwarzenberg of 1947 seized the entire estate of that branch of the family: 55,000 hectares, and with them the castles of Hluboká, Český Krumlov and Třeboň. Adolf Schwarzenberg was no collaborator — he helped fund Czechoslovak fortifications, backed Beneš's government in exile, and his property in Germany and Austria had already been seized by the Gestapo. The law is still in force, and after years of lawsuits all the family has got back is the family tomb.
