Specialty coffee in Slupsk

Under the rubble of a corner tenement on Grodzka, destroyed near the end of the war, archaeologists recently dug out a coffee roasting machine with a built-in furnace, almost complete, with a legible plate from a German manufacturer in business since 1868 and coffee beans still inside. It stood in the cellar of August Ruffmann's colonial goods shop; Ruffmann traded in coffee and roasted it himself, and the size of the furnace gives away that he did it semi-wholesale. The building came down straight onto that cellar and kept the roastery covered for eighty years. What is being settled now is whether the furnace goes to a museum or ends up as decoration in the hotel due to be built where the shop was.
