Specialty coffee in Gizycko

The bridge thrown across the Kanał Łuczański weighs almost a hundred tons and one man turns it: he takes hold of a crank and in roughly a minute swings the twenty-meter span through ninety degrees. It was put up at the end of the 19th century by Beuchelt & Co. of Zielona Góra, blown up in January 1945 by the retreating Germans, and after the rebuild it got the same crank back instead of a motor. When the span goes sideways, the line of cars waits for the sailboats to pass through. In Giżycko the water has right of way, and not in a figurative sense.
