Specialty coffee in Albenga

Albenga is called the city of the slingshot, and not figuratively: there is a monument here to a slingshot made of fibreglass and steel, and beside it a sculpture of three urchins taking aim at the medieval towers. Responsibility lies with the Fieui di Caruggi association (literally: the boys from the alleys), which every year hands a wooden slingshot to someone who has taken a particularly well-aimed shot in life; in 2026 it went to the actor Paolo Ruffini. In the association's cellar lie more than two hundred and fifty slingshots collected from all over the world. Few towns take a ten-year-old's weapon this seriously.
