Specialty coffee in Iesi

Jesi, population forty thousand, has more Olympic fencing golds than most countries in the world. It started with Ezio Triccoli, who came back here from a prison camp in South Africa and opened a club in a borrowed gym in 1947. That one school produced Cerioni, Trillini, Vezzali and Di Francisca, and the hall on Via Solazzi is still sometimes home to the Italian foil squad. The town likes to call itself the Milan of the Marche, but the world knows it for something far more intimate than industry.
